MSCPT-06 is supplied as a fully assembled self-contained biological indicator (SCBI). Disassembly of the finished unit for population verification is not recommended.
During shipping, contact between the inoculated steel disc and the glass media ampule may dislodge spores from the disc, potentially resulting in inaccurate population-recovery results.
Dislodged spores remain within the SCBI vial and do not necessarily affect the intended biological indicator performance.
For population verification, True Indicating recommends purchasing separately packaged inoculated steel discs from the same production lot rather than disassembling finished SCBIs.
